Born and breed in rural New Zealand, majority of my life was based on the farm. From milking cows to becoming a sheep shearing champion. A huge part of my life is also rugby. Rugby is my passion. Whether on the field, on the side-line, or in the backyard passing a ball with my two children.
In 2001 I was involved with Whitchurch high school in a 1st XV rugby exchange with my school Wairarapa College. Being involved with the school and the 1st XV team was a great way to experience Welsh rugby and the culture. The level and profile of rugby improved while the exchanged was in place. I made a lot of friends who I keep Intouch with. I also meet my future wife who also attended the school, and 8 years later we got married in New Zealand. In 2016 we returned to Wales and I became WHS Rugby HUB Officer, in 2019 I moved roles to become WHS Rugby Coordinator and Academy coach. My wife and I along with our two children have called Wales home for the last 5 years. It has been an exciting journey for me to give back to the school and the community who all gave a lot to me.
I retired from club rugby in 2014 after achieving 35 caps for Wairarapa Bush (the representative team for my region in NZ); In 2011 I was selected for the New Zealand Heartland squad. It was in 2015 that I started my coaching journey. In this short time, I have attained a formal qualification with the New Zealand rugby union. I have taken on skill development coach roles with Wellington Hurricanes under 19 Barbarians team and Regional under 16 team, as well as being a head coach with a Premier Men’s rugby team for 2 years. In 2018 I completed WRU level 3 rugby union coaching qualification, I also am a WRU coach educator and a regional pathway coach for Cardiff Blues.
