Celebrating Talent at the Year 13 Leavers’ Concert
The Performing Arts Faculty at Whitchurch High School once again opened its doors to families, friends, and staff for the annual Year 13 Leavers’ Concert, a cherished tradition that shines a spotlight on the incredible talents of our departing Sixth Form students.
This year’s concert was a vibrant celebration of music, featuring performances from some of the school’s most accomplished ensembles, including the School Orchestra, Upper School Choir, Chamber Choir, and Boys’ Vocal Group. These ensemble pieces were beautifully complemented by solo performances from our Year 13 Music students, each showcasing their skill, creativity, and musical growth throughout their time at Whitchurch.
A standout moment of the evening was the presentation of the Richard Fice Memorial Award, which honours a student who has made an exceptional contribution to the Performing Arts Faculty. This year, the award was proudly presented to Hazel Lee, whose dedication, leadership, and artistic vision have left an enduring mark on the department.
Head of Performing Arts, Mrs Jones Price, reflected: “The Leavers’ Concert is always a special occasion, a chance to celebrate the achievements of our students while saying goodbye to those who have given so much to the faculty. This year, presenting Hazel with the award was an especially proud moment. Hazel has been an inspiring figure within the Performing Arts community, and we are immensely proud of her contribution."
The evening was a fitting tribute to a remarkable cohort, and a testament to the energy and excellence that define the performing arts at Whitchurch High School.
