Year 10 Pupils Immerse Themselves in Welsh Language and Culture at Llanuwchllyn
32 Year 10 pupils from Whitchurch High School embarked on a memorable residential trip to Llanuwchllyn, located near the picturesque Bala Lake. Organised by the Welsh Department, the visit offered students a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the Welsh language and culture while enjoying a range of exciting outdoor activities.
From canoeing on the lake to team-building challenges and cultural workshops, pupils embraced every moment with enthusiasm and positivity. The experience not only strengthened their language skills but also fostered friendships and created lasting memories.
Miss Stagg, Curriculum Leader for Welsh, commented: “This trip is a fantastic way for our pupils to experience Welsh in a real-world context. It’s about more than just language, it’s about identity, confidence, and connection. We’re incredibly proud of how engaged and respectful our students were throughout the week.”
The school would like to thank all staff involved in organising and supporting the trip, and congratulate the pupils on their exemplary behaviour and participation.
