Whitchurch High School Student Shines on the International Karate Stage
We are delighted to celebrate the success of Year 9 student Nephele, who has continued to excel in karate at both national and international level.
At the end of August, Nephele competed at the British International Karate Championships in Sheffield, where she achieved an impressive bronze medal in her category.
Her success has now led to selection for the JKS Continental (European) Karate Cup, taking place in Copenhagen, Denmark, from 11th – 15th September. Nephele will proudly represent JKS England in both individual kata (forms)and team kata, alongside two other squad members.
This latest achievement follows her participation earlier in the year at the prestigious Youth Karate 1 competition in Poreč, Croatia, where she gained invaluable experience competing against top international athletes. Read more here.
Headteacher Mr. Nick John said: “We are incredibly proud of Nephele and her remarkable achievements in karate. To compete at such a high level and represent her country is a wonderful accomplishment, and a testament to her hard work, commitment, and determination. She is an excellent role model for our school community.”
We wish Nephele every success as she represents JKS England in Copenhagen this September.
