Life Skills Award

Students Recognised by Youth Sport Trust for Outstanding Achievement in Physical Education and Life Skills Development.

In an impressive display of dedication and skill, our Year 9 students have successfully completed the Stage 3 Life Skills award in Physical Education, a recognition endorsed by the renowned Youth Sport Trust.

The award, a significant milestone in the students’ educational journey, highlights the holistic approach of Whitchurch High School to physical education. It not only measures physical prowess but also places a strong emphasis on the development of crucial life skills through sports and physical activities.

"This achievement is a testament to the hard work and resilience of our students," said Mrs Thomas, Sport & Fitness Curriculum Leader at Whitchurch High School. "It's inspiring to see them grow not just in their athletic abilities but also in life skills that are essential for their future success."

The Youth Sport Trust, an influential national charity, has designed the Life Skills award to nurture character-building skills such as teamwork, leadership, and perseverance. These skills are considered vital for students to thrive in the rapidly evolving future workplace.

The Stage 3 Life Skills award goes beyond traditional PE. It’s about preparing our young people for life. Through various physical activities and team sports, our students have learned the importance of cooperation, determination, and maintaining a positive attitude, even in the face of challenges.

With this award, Whitchurch High School reaffirms its commitment to providing a well-rounded education, preparing its students not just academically but also equipping them with essential life skills for success in their future endeavors.
