St Joseph's Rugby Tournament

The Rugby Academy travelled to Ipswich, competing in the 36th National Schools Rugby Festival helt at St Joseph's College. The team were placed into Group 2, which included games on day one with Trinity School, Malborough College and Kirkham Grammar School, and the games were at 09:40, 12:20 and 15:30 respectively, and on day two games against Hurstpierpoint College, Strathallan School and Queen Elizabeth Grammar School. Unfortunately our 1st XV lost their first game against Trinity School 13-0 but won their second game against Marlborough College 7-3.

Additionally the academy staff would like to give huge thanks to the St Joseph's NextGenXV Medical Team who were quick to react to our injured player against Trinity School. On day two, an exciting end-to-end game against Strathallan School, ending with Whitchurch scoring in the dying seconds to win the game 5-0. To conclude the St Joseph's Rugby Festival 2022, our team won the Shield Final against Queen Elizabeth Grammar School 26-10 - what a fantastic way to end the festival for another year!
