March 3rd during Whitchurch High School's Welsh Week was a big day for our year 7 pupils at WHS as we celebrated our annual Eisteddfod. Students, representing three houses, Coch, Gwyn a Gwyrdd, took part in a wide variety of stage competitions from solo singing, dancing and drama to recitation, quizzes and instrumentals.
The Eisteddfod is an important cultural event in Wales, and it has a long history dating back to the 12th century. It is traditionally held annually, with different regions of Wales taking turns to host the event.
