Book Fayre
Our Lower School Resource Centre was abuzz with excitement as students flocked to the book fayre organised by our librarian Mrs Edwards from an initiative from the Reading Council of Wales where they provided a £7 book voucher for every young person aged 11-16yrs.
A local bookstore, Caban located in Pontacanna, Cardiff filled the LRC with thousands of different types of books and in total 1145 books were sold.
Gareth Evans, the author of "Running out of Time," also visited WHS and spent time with our students that selected his book personalising each copy.
The book fayre was a testament to the power of books in inspiring and engaging young minds. It provided an opportunity for students to discover new worlds, explore different perspectives, and develop a lifelong love for reading.
