Sports Day

After a 3 year break, Sports Day 2022 took place in the glorious sunshine with students from KS3 representing their forms with great pride, being cheered on by the crowds. Our medals, made by Mr Mike Williams (Departmental Leader for DT), ribbons continuing to show our support for #Ukraine.

Across the week events took place, starting with the hurdles, shot, javelin, discus, high jump and triple jump on Tuesday, along with the 200m, 300m and 1500m track events. On Thursday there were the boys field events, 100m and relay, and on the Friday was where the finals for track events took place. Starting with the 100m finals, then the 800m at 10.20am, 200m at 10,40am, 300m at 11.10am and finally the Relay at 11.40am.

Well done to all the pupils that took part in the Sports Day events, it’s been brilliant with over 360 medals given out and the participation levels have been amazing. Additionally, a massive thank you to our Year 10 GCSE PE pupils who helped during Sports Day with timing, placing & encouraging and running with some of the pupils who needed help.
