Our newly established girls' cricket groups from Years 7, 8 and 9 participated in tournaments held at Radyr Cricket Club promoting girls sports. The event was organised by Cricket Wales and it was a great experience for all involved. Along with girls representing Radyr Comprehensive, Plasmawr, Glantaf, Broedyn, Bro Morgannwg, Cardiff West, Fitzalan, Llanishen, Cathays and Howells Schools, our U13s won two games, drew one and lost two and our U15s won three and lost two.
The Youth Sport Trust's Girls Active initiative aims to help encourage girls to take part in physical activity, enabling teachers to work with girls through consultation and leadership to make the necessary changes to their PE, sport and physical activity provision to engage all girls in ways that appeal to them. Our #GLAMgirls promote sport and exercise enabling girls to break through sporting barriers. We have recently setup a Twitter Feed dedicated to the programme, advocating and sharing our Girls Active journey.
